I came into the UK with my family in November 2020 with no idea on how to go on with my education journey until I was introduced to Community Needs at Trinity Community Centre.I joined a Semlep programme where they supported me in getting my first ever UK qualifications along with supporting me with my CV and cover letter. I did 4 different courses and achieved my qualifications. They then supported my with my literacy and numeracy.I was able to improve on my communication and computer skills. I thoroughly enjoyed my course. I would recommend the organisation to others especially for anyone new into the country.

I joined Community Needs on the SEMLEP project to do several courses which included Food Safety, Mental Health Awareness and Employ-ability. Before I started these courses I never knew as much, but while doing these courses I gained a lot of knowledge. I also completed my employ-ability skills which included CV, cover letter and interviewing techniques. While I was doing my course they supported me by registering my daughter for the nursery which was based at the community centre. The staff’s and teacher’s were very friendly and helpful. I made new friends. I have improved my literacy and numeracy while attending the programme. I’m very pleased to come here and gained a lot of skills and if I have chance to come back here I definitely will return. The Environment here was very safe. I recommend this place to others. After i completed this project I am now volunteering for the organisation. I have improved my administration skills and confidence.

Community Needs have provided me and my family much support during Coronavirus. I have no family here and I am a single parent. They support me and my children. They keep in contact with me during lockdown and when they re-open services we were very happy. I attend the ladies exercise class and my children attend after school club. We cannot wait when they open up all the services. I recommend people to join projects with Community Needs. They have given me the opportunity to volunteer to build my experience.
